Williamsburg Journal Day 5 I’m home. It’s Tuesday morning. My drive home was reasonably uneventful. The Shenedoah Valley at sunset was gorgeous. The entire highway smelled wonderful until Charleston, WV. And I was so enraptured with Miss Vowell’s second half of Assassination Vacation that I missed an exit and had to go twenty miles out of my way just to turn around. To bring that level of compelling to James Garfield means either she’s an outstanding author of the highest degree or... I was really sleepy.

Williamsburg Journal Day 4 Did I mention how good it smells here? I can’t even walk to the breakfast bar to get my AM waffle without noticing that the air smells like honeysuckle and mock orange trees.

The waffles at the continental breakfast were the selling point for this hotel. Hotel search engines feature images of the hotels, and when I saw the waffle maker I knew I’d found the one. I eat cereal without complaint everyday but for some reason, when it’s all a breakfast bar has to offer, I feel strangely ripped off. What would I eat at home? Wheaties. On vacation? Waffles. this picture gives me a lot of feelings.
i like the fact that it's just a sketch., i don't know why... it gives a more romantic atmosphere maybe. the expression in her eyes is magnificient, she looks so devastated... anyway, i really enjoy this picture (and the fact that they remind me of a 18th century couple that i LOVE is even better)

Most of the time I ask myself how in the world you have the stamina to update regularly, to keep making pages and STILL get better with each one. It takes a lot of energy to do comics....

Comics takes SO much stamina!!! People don't realize until they start to do it. Yeah, I've had my ups and downs with it over the years, but I love the story so much I want to make sure I finish it. It's my full time job, so that helps too.
