Toon Alexander Hamilton by comic-chic Toon Alexander Hamilton by comic-chic
This is the last Dreamer character that I did in a toony Disney style. And I think he's my favorite! I didn't mean for Hamilton to look like the villain, but he certainly lends himself to it...!

Here are the others in the series: Bea [link] Alan [link] Frederick [link]

Alexander Hamilton is responsible for the U.S. system of economy. He also was one of the masterminds behind the U.S. Constitution. He is also a character from my Revolutionary War romantic time-travel webcomic, The Dreamer, but he had no say in that: [link]

I've been going through your entire "toon" series of character studies and...wow. Just wow. They all look great and now I'm grinning like a lunatic.

What a ponce that fellow looks like!

So, a few weeks ago, there was a huge argument brewing at work (between a bunch of drunk rednecks at the bar) over whether or not Alexander Hamilton was a president or not. It was amusing. The conflict was resolved by a smart phone.

And that's the end of that story. :/

So sad that it was the *phone* that smart in the end.

Wasn't Ben Franklin a president, too....? (People will say that about Hilary Clinton one day.)

Ooh, I adore this one!! I'm such a Hamilton fangirl. Haha. This is exceptional. I love how you draw his profile. He had a very noble nose, indeed, and you have certainly done it justice. :XD: And I'm loving the wig, by the way.

Ah, ever the fop, Hamilton? (He's just trying to hide the fact that he was a penniless, orphaned, illegitimate kid. That poor Captain and his hidden insecurities!)

Seriously, the devious edge that he seems to have in these pictures reminds me of a quote I read somewhere: "He may have been an evil genius, but he was AMERICA'S evil genius." Whether or not this is true is up to personal interpretation, but it made me laugh!

HA! LOVE that quote. Hamilton is a love-and-hate him kind of guy. (Not love-or-hate, because I feel it's possible to do both simultaneously!) Sometimes you want to reach back in history and shake him by the shoulders and say "ENOUGH. You look the fool, you just don't realize it!"

Pride. It masks a much deeper insecurity, and makes us do stupid, stupid things.

Not so much villain as that smarmy guy who acts as a foil to the hero, highlighting why he's perfect for the heroine. So . . . pretty much spot on. :)
