Williamsburg Journal Day 5 I’m home. It’s Tuesday morning. My drive home was reasonably uneventful. The Shenedoah Valley at sunset was gorgeous. The entire highway smelled wonderful until Charleston, WV. And I was so enraptured with Miss Vowell’s second half of Assassination Vacation that I missed an exit and had to go twenty miles out of my way just to turn around. To bring that level of compelling to James Garfield means either she’s an outstanding author of the highest degree or... I was really sleepy.

Williamsburg Journal Day 4 Did I mention how good it smells here? I can’t even walk to the breakfast bar to get my AM waffle without noticing that the air smells like honeysuckle and mock orange trees.

The waffles at the continental breakfast were the selling point for this hotel. Hotel search engines feature images of the hotels, and when I saw the waffle maker I knew I’d found the one. I eat cereal without complaint everyday but for some reason, when it’s all a breakfast bar has to offer, I feel strangely ripped off. What would I eat at home? Wheaties. On vacation? Waffles. WB Journal Day 3: Meet Alan I understand now why people either go places to write about them, or, inevitably write about the places they already live (the John Grisham syndrome). You can see at what point in an artist’s career he moves because the environments and or the subjects change abruptly. There’s something about being in a place when you write about it that seems necessary now. A resource book won’t tell you what a garden smells like in spring, or what a warm, southern, ocean breeze feels like on your face.

Oh wow - why I didn't discover this gem sooner is beyond me. I love how this came out and as a fan of both Hetalia and your comc, I have to say I LOVE the idea of these two characters actually knowing each other.
