The final round of Senior announcements for 2009!
Artist's Comments
I saw my friend Bob Hickey (who owns Blue Line Pro) at the SPACE comic convention this weekend. He commissioned me to do a pinup for his comic book store (Comics 2 Games in KY), which has a big gallery section in the back. He wanted it drawn on Blue Line Paper, naturally, and asked me to do a pinup of The Dreamer characters, with Bea in the center and the modern cast on one side and the 18th century characters on the other. I think this is a fun promo piece with the Graphic Novel coming out in just a few months (and it's already listed for pre-order on Amazon!!)
It was really fun to get paid to draw my own characters, and enough to make it something I'm proud of. I'm not sure what to do with it now though. I added some rendering so it'll stand out when it's hanging up on the wall at the store, but now I'm not sure whether to color it or leave it as is. Decisions, decisions. Anyway, I think I'm most happy with how Alan and Nathan and Yvette turned out. Mike used to pick on me because all of my characters are always smiling, so I made sure that not one was here! Enjoy! And I hope Bob likes it!! |

I don't think I can add anything meaningful to this.
It's beyond my current capacity to express.
As for the coloring, no coloring, why not try both?
I assume that you already have a copy of this page scanned in, so why not make a color version, and then keep the pencils just they are (Or add some sepia tone to it all, just for the Hell of it).

Well, I guess if Bea can learn to live with two heads, she doesn't have a dilemma anymore ...
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
