This is the other Courting Fate funny strip I did. This is what every guy's first day of figure drawing class was like. Rose was an actual model at our school. She looked a lot like that. She would put her bathrobe on (and nothing else!) during breaks and bum smokes off students on the steps of the building.

Titanic wasn't a classic back then, lol. It was still fresh in all of our hearts!

Too true! The male students have such a hard time taking the drawing aspect seriously.

Haha I love it. In college our female model was like 50 years old and gawky with super saggy breasts. It was awkward.

Lol, whenever we do life drawings in my art class (since it's high school, we just have a student jump onto the table and pose for ten minutes...with clothes of course), my teacher tells us how most of the nudes that she had to draw when she was in art school were actually hobos. Yes. Most of the kids were a little creeped out by that, lol :D And she's also said that at Christian universities, they have their models wear bikinis/unitards/whatever swim suits, which is interesting since I'm thinking about going to a Christian university... haha.

I know some art schools don't do full nudes for male models, they use speedos, lol! I know that used to be true at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I mean... I guess it depends on what kind of artist you want to be, but you can still get a pretty accurate idea of anatomy, even if they're wearing a bikini, lol. I used to be able to not think about it, but there was this one female model who always looked like she was about to cry and, well, that was hard to make it through a 3 hour class.

Lol, wow :XD: Yeah, I figure that even if I go to a regular school, I'd probably end up getting use to life drawing, lol. But aw! I'd feel so guilty if I had to draw a model who seemed that way...

-laughs- I was told by my friends who took the class that this is what we ended up with too... I'm to much a prude and ended up dropping out of arts 'cause I couldn't do nude people. Ever.

Funny strips for sure though!

After freshman year, I only had one anatomy class, since I was in animation and not fine art/illustration. We did lots of life drawings, but not nudes.

So what do you do now? Are you glad you made the switch?
