Here is one of those old strips I was talking about. Beau Smith and I came up with a set of characters who went to art school for a story called Courting Fate. They were rookie freshman, and the story, according to Beau, is a modern day Archie comic.
This is Fate, the story's heroine, arguing with her wacky BFF, Luther Donovan Solo III (aka Donny). I think this was from 2002. In the height of the Lord of the Rings frenzy. Beau used to get on my case for my Hobbit obsession, so I wrote this strip just to ruffle his feathers. Six years later, and he still remembers it, so I did something right.  |
