Just today a friend accused me that I would have slept with Thomas Jefferson if I was around in the 18th century. I refuse to acknowledge whether or not this is true... but I am enamoured with the era.

Ha ha ha...yeah, I like my men manly too! It all stems from Indiana Jones, methinks. In any case, MOST of my guys are the manly type. Cept Riley...but don't tell him that!!!

As for me & TJ... *sigh* It would've never worked out. He's exactly like an ex-boyfriend of mine: tall & lanky, dishevelled, brilliant beyond words, talented without effort, self confident, but emotionally aloof and unable to commit! ha ha!
But... it would've been an interesting fling!

Maybe in another time, Mr. Jefferson...
as for books: Jane Austin *duh!*, Les Miserables (UNABRIDGED! The commentaries on Napoleon & Waterloo are the best parts of that book!) and, well, *looks guilty* Johnny Tremain
movies: The Thin Red Line!! The New World (uh... so intense and they never even kiss!) and Marie Antoinette. The costumes in this movie are unreal. I watch it over and over again and drool... The Thomas Jefferson line makes me laugh every time, too.
And... I think Indiana Jones was //so// a heart throb for our generation!!! Col. Knowlton does have that rugged manly thing going on that Indy was so good at!

Also, have you been out and about in the East coast to see all the Revolution stuff out there? My fav place was Williamsburg (or was it Willimington???) where they had SO MUCH STUFF on the Revolutionary War...like, the whole town was set up for it! And yes, there was someone playing all the main "characters", including your TJ!!
Tee hee, as for the films/books, I was aiming for Revolutionary War-themed ones (curious to know what you think of them!), but its cool to see your likes in movies anyways. The Simpsons has forever corrupted me on "Johnny Tremain"....I've read it, enjoyed it, but I ALWAYS think "They should have called it Johnny Deformed!!!" Anyways, I totally agree with you on Indiana Jones. And Knowlton has GOT to be an utter heart trob, seriously. Gawd, why must you tempt me with so many hot, hot characters?!!! I need to make, like, a rival comic based in some sort of historical time period and have it loaded with awesome (and *ahem* SEXY) guys. Or just continue reading your comics *__* Amazing stuff!!
Also, I am just getting into Jane Austin...the latest version of Pride and Prejudice, the movie got me hooked (rawr, Mr. Darcy!!!). But I must say my fav character is Mr. Palmer from Sense and Sensibility. Omg, that guy rocks for all the reasons I'm NOT supposed to like him!

Tee hee, I love how costumes and wigs can make a movie SO MUCH MORE APPEALING!!! That was Marie Antoinette all over...if I could get away wearing those outfits all the time, I think I would. *swoons*

But yeah, I've been to Yorktown and Philadelphia and walked the Freedom Trail in Boston... I really need to get to Valley Forge.
As for Revolutionary War movies, I, err, hated the Patriot. Maybe I needed to see it again, but you know... it seemed waaay over the top to me. I just remember him standing in a creek hacking some guys brains out while his kids watched. He lost me then and there. But that's Mel Gibson for you. I'm not a huge fan. And everyone has told me that the Johnny Tremain movie sucks so I never saw it. Can't wait for the 12 part HBO John Adams mini series next year, though!!
oh and... Mr. Darcy FOREVER!!!!!!!

In any case....that is so awesome. Dorky, but amazingly cute. You and your adorable obessions!!!
So you must travel A LOT!!! A year membership...wow!
Mr. Darcy forever indeed. I've even read all of the spin-off "Darcy-centric" novels that seem to be everywhere noadays. But still....Mr. Palmer is too awesome.
......HBO is making a 12-part miniseries on John Adams??? Holy crap, why must HBO be the coolest thing ever all the time?!!!
