Another character design for my webcomic The Dreamer. This is Captain Nathan Hale, who was an officer in an elite regiment called Knowlton's Rangers that served during the Revolutionary War.

This is one of my favorite drawings that I ever did for The Dreamer probably because I'm so enamoured with Nathan Hale. He's such an endearing member of the cast of colorful characters who started this country. He's all American like apple pie and baseball and Elvis...

Wow! I'm researching Nathan Hale for a school project, and he looks really good in this picture. Even if he did die...

Oh my gosh. I was searching pictures of Alexander Hamilton for a friend- who is in love with the man - and I came across your drawings of him as a young captain on here. (She loved them, by the way.) Anyways, I clicked the link to your comic and read the plot description and nearly had a conniption fit, because Bea is like...my friend's twin. A theater buff on her way to Broadway. So I sent her the link in a rather spastic manner and then delved in myself. Three issues in, I was acting like a thirteen year old girl over Hale. (I screamed and pressed a pillow to my face..I really did.) And then, I remembered we owned a biography on the man and screamed, ran out of my room, past my mother, down the stairs, and nearly slammed into the bookcase. I tossed aside the other book I was going to read for AP English (we have to read a book for each six weeks and write a lengthy prose analysis about it.) and threw myself into this biography. Today, my Econ teacher teased me about it when I asked him if I could read the darn thing instead of watching Pirates of Silicon Valley (Bill Gates who? Steve Jobs what?) "Is this for APUSH?" He asked. And when I told him it was just for enjoyment he laughed; "You're in love with Nathan Hale aren't you, I can tell." All I could do was laugh...So, yes, I am in love with Nathan Hale...thanks, I guess. :)

LOL, then you clearly need to see this: [link]

So glad you found The Dreamer! I hope your friend the Hamilton fanatic likes the comic too! If you keep reading, he shows up in Issue #9 and he has quite a lot of fans himself!

Tehe! I saw that already. :) (It's fantastic.)

My friend the Hamilton fanatic loves The Dreamer very much. I got another friend to read it as well. (The three of us stay at school really late on Wednesdays and didn't have any homework...) She was an instant Alan fan. :D

I caught up to the latest panel last night (I "forgot to do my Trig homework a couple of nights in a row.) I was also in tears by that point and my stomach hurt from crying so hard. It takes a lot to make me cry - so you should definitely be proud!

:D
